News Release
Attorney Ron DiNicola has received the endorsement of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare in his bid to unseat Rep. Mike Kelly in Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional district. DiNicola, a U.S. Marine veteran, has pledged to fight for Western Pennsylvania’s seniors in Washington, D.C.
“Our nation needs his leadership, vision and determination to advocate for working families and older Americans. He has earned the endorsement of the National Committee because he understands and supports the critical roles that Social Security and Medicare play in the retirement and health security of our nation’s older citizens and their families,” says National Committee President and CEO Max Richtman.
Incumbent Mike Kelly voted for the Trump/GOP tax cuts, supported repeal of healthcare protections for older Americans, and gave a thumbs-up to House Republican budgets that would have slashed Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security Disability Insurance by billions. Rep. Kelly receives a dismal 0% rating for his legislative record from the National Committee.
Challenger DiNicola will oppose any attempt to cut or privatize either program, working to expand benefits instead. “The federal government should honor its commitment to guarantee that every senior can live with dignity in their retirement years,” DiNicola says.
