Today, on behalf of the over 3,000 National Committee members in Michigan’s Eighth Congressional District, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare PAC is proud to endorse Kristen McDonald Rivet for election to the United States House of Representatives. MI-08 is one of the most important battlegrounds in the race for control of the House this year, and it is crucial that Michiganders send a champion of Social Security and Medicare to Congress. Throughout her career in public service, Kristen McDonald Rivet has stood up for working families and older Americans. The National Committee looks forward to working with her in Congress to strengthen Michigander’s earned benefits.
“Social Security has lifted millions of America’s seniors out of poverty and gives working Michiganders a pathway to retirement. In the state Senate, I have always had the backs of our seniors,” says McDonald-Rivet. “While MAGA Republicans threaten social security and Medicare, I look forward to winning this election and working with NSPSSM to strengthen and secure these critical programs.”
This election will help determine the future of Social Security and Medicare. We need Kristen McDonald Rivet in Congress to help strengthen Social Security, continue the fight to lower prescription drugs costs, and to push back against the radical Project 2025 agenda. Voters in Michigan’s Eighth District can count on Kirsten McDonald Rivet to do the right thing for seniors, their families, and all Michiganders after the district was so ably represented by Rep. Dan Kildee.
“I have had the pleasure of knowing both Dan and Dale Kildee, and I have been proud to have worked with them over the years. The Kildees always fought for Michigan’s working families, and they leave an incredible legacy behind. Kristen McDonald Rivet will carry on that legacy in Congress,” says NCPSSM president and CEO Max Richtman. “She is the only candidate in this race who will prioritize Michigan’s seniors, and who will vote to defend and enhance Social Security and Medicare. I couldn’t be happier that Dan Kildee will have such a strong successor in Congress, and I am proud to endorse her campaign.”
